Unlock 4.0 is here. Are we ready ?

Hello, the process of Unlock 4.0 has begun finally all over the country…In such a situation, “Move out of your homes only when it is very necessary”. Remember this caller tune? It has instilled in our minds very deeply that now this disclaimer is a bit exasperating and tiresome for many.

Right? But the fact remnant that COVID -19 has not exploded in India, and the risk of its happening still remains as the country moves towards its unlocking phase and the virus continue to surge reaching a dreaded figure around one lakh cases per day and it is showing no signs of flattening yet ?

As indicated by WHO Health Emergencies Program Executive Director Michael Ryan, since the nation isn’t totally free from the risk of the virus, individuals should be extremely cautious before venturing out of their homes, as there is consistently a danger of the malady bouncing back once more.

As it is known to everyone that India outperformed Italy and occupied a position of the top worst-hit nation after USA by COVID. Isn’t this a genuine concern? The factor which should be contemplated is that individuals should be more rationale and should change their conduct by and large. As still, numerous individuals abstain from wearing a mask while moving out from their homes as though COVID is something of the past.

But WHO Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan holds a different view, as she affirms that ‘India is a heterogeneous and huge country with over 1.5 billion people where cities are densely populated and much lower density in rural areas. The numbers of cases reported may seem humongous but the country with such a big population, numbers are quite modest. India needs to keep track of the growth and craft effective strategies to avoid the further spread of the virus during the unlock phase.

While addressing the nation in ‘Mann ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that no one ever thought of this pandemic, and the fight against this virus would go long but urged citizens to consider this as a challenge and emerged as a powerful fighter. He stressed that as the country has entered into a phase of unlock, so social distancing, taking necessary precautions, and following guidelines should be the top priority of all citizens.

But what’s most important? Mr Swaminathan Aiyar, an Indian economist, affirms that as lockdown and restrictions are lighten up, everyone needs to follow the guidelines mentioned by the state. Soon when Union Home Ministry announced unlock 4.0  and associated guidelines, several states surfaced with their own set of guidelines. While Harayana ended the order to keep the urban market closed on Monday and Tuesday, Tamil Nadu decided to scarp off the e-pass system within the district and Uttar Pradesh decided to lift off the weekend lockdown – Saturday and Sunday which means that now all market can remain open on Sundays.

The surge is really daunting and spine-chilling, one needs to be very cautious before moving out from their homes.

Stay Home, Stay Safe!
